KONTORprojects in Copenhagen has invited MELK to contribute with the exhibition Wasteland by Kaja Leijon, as part of the new international festival for artist-run spaces, Artist Run.

Wasteland investigates how our fantasy and imagination is affected by film, and how people in everyday life integrate images from fiction into their own lives. The film attempts to understand how preconceived conceptions influences the way we see and interpret our surroundings.
This is the first exhibition by the artist in Denmark.

Kaja Leijon (b. 1980 Oslo) lives and works in Oslo. She has studied at the Academy of Fine Art Oslo and CalArts in California. Her work has been shown in Kunsthalle Mainz, Germany; Trøndelag Senter for Samtidskunst, Trondheim; UKS, Oslo; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin; Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo; Taiwan National Museum of Fine Arts; Center for Contemporary Arts Afganhistan, Kabul; Fuzue Arte e Cultura, Rio de Janeiro amongst others.
