Arja Hyytiäinen

I Arja Hyytiäinens verden blir vi kastet inn i en særegen estetikk med referanser til det filmatiske fotografiet. Dokumentariske bilder av mørke, intime øyeblikk, surrealistiske situasjoner og iscenesatte fantasier er det som definerer hennes særegne kontemporære stil.

Hyytiäinen om sin forståelse av fotografiet;

-Each experience leaves a mark:
a photograph can remain
as a proof of that
fictitious or non fictitious.

De siste årene har Hyytiäinen (f. 1974, Finland) vært fast medlem av Agence Vu i Frankrike og har stilt ut i land som Sverige, Tsjekkia, Polen, Tyskland, Ungarn, Frankrike, Nederland, Irland og Kina. Dette er hennes første separatutstilling i Norge.

I 2006 mottok Hyytiäinen Kodak prize of critical photography og vant Grand Prix ved Fotofestiwal Polen i 2007.

Hun er utdannet fra kunstfakultetet i Praha, F.A.M.U, og bor for tiden i La Rochelle, Frankrike.

Galleriet holder åpent lør. – søn. 12-16 i utstillingsperioder.

In Arja Hyytiäinens world we are thrown into a unique aesthetic with references to cinematic photography. Documentary images of dark intimate moments, surealistic staged situations and fantasies define her distinctive contemporary style.

Hyytiäinen about her understanding of photography;

-Each experience leaves a mark:
a photograph can remain
as a proof of that
fictitious or non fictitious.

Hyytiäinen (b. 1974, Finland) is a member of the world renown Agence Vu in France and her images have been exhibited in countries like Sweden, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Hungary, France, Netherlands, Ireland and China. This is her first exhibition in Norway.

In 2006 Hyytiäinen recieved the Kodak prize of critical photography and won the Grand Prix at Fotofestiwal Poland in 2007.

She graduated from the art faculty in Prague, FAMU, and currently lives in La Rochelle, France.
